DECATUR - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has provided a very basic update on the investigation into the death of Clarkesville Mayor Terry Greene.
In a written statement, GBI Public Affairs Deputy Director Nelly Miles said, "We have recently received information that the autopsy has been completed. At this time, the investigation is active and ongoing and agents will be speaking with family members about the progress of the investigation to include the autopsy results."
Greene suffered a gunshot wound at his home on Asbury Street in Clarkesville in an incident reported at 7:01 p.m. Sunday.
Miles said GBI will update media outlets accordingly when new information will be made available.
