Blairsville man arrested by GBI on rape, aggravated sodomy charges

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation recently arrested a Blairsville man on charges of rape, aggravated sodomy and sexual battery.

The GBI said the Union County Sheriff’s Office received a report on Sunday, Feb. 16 that Michael Warren, 34, sexually assaulted a person. The sheriff’s office requested help from the GBI.

The GBI arrested Warren on Sunday, Feb. 18.

Warren worked for Union County as an HVAC technician during his arrest. 

He was booked into the Union County Detention Center.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
