FBHS marking 3rd Gold Out for CURE

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
FLOWERY BRANCH - This year marks the 3rd annual Gold Out for CURE at Flowery Branch High School.

What once began as a small idea has now exploded into one of the school's biggest traditions, according to organizers.

This year's event holds a special importance to the school because of the recent death of a FBHS student, Keaton Coker, who lost a battle with brain cancer.

The event is designed to help raise funds and awareness for pediatric cancer, while honoring the FBHS families battling childhood cancer. Plans call for expanding the concept this year by increasing T-shirt sales within and outside the community.

The big push will come Oct. 3 at the Flowery Branch/Windeer-Barrow football game.
