ATLANTA - Officials with the Charge Georgia program have awarded rebates for 44 electric vehicle charging stations in the state, four of them in our area.
Dahlonega, Helen, Suwanee and the Toccoa Downtown Development Authority each received a rebate.
Charge Georgia, administered by the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA), announced the rebate awards this week. They will reimburse half of actual or proposed costs, whichever is lower. The maximum amount of the rebate is $40,000.

"When we launched Charge Georgia earlier this year, GEFA hoped the rebate program would help to install 25 to 30 electric vehicle charging stations. We're pleased that we've exceeded our goal," GEFA Executive Director Kevin Clark said in a news release.
GEFA continues to accept wait list applications.
GEFA awarded 33 rebates this week, totalling nearly $280,000.
