CLEVELAND - White County firefighters responded to a residential fire on Westmoreland Meadows Drive south of Cleveland Friday morning.
"The call came in to 9-1-1 dispatch around 8:30 a.m.," said White County Public Safety Director David Murphy. "Stations 4 and 5 were dispatched, with mutual aid from Cleveland Fire Department as well as the Lee Arrendale Fire Brigade."
According to Murphy, the home was a total loss and the fire appears to have started in or around the front porch area.
"The occupants were at home at the time of the incident, and escaped without injuries," Murphy said.
The American Red Cross was called to assist the family with immediate needs.
Murphy said the state fire marshal was called and is investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
