Golf: Buford No. 1, Banks No. 2 in 7-AAA girls tourney

HOMER -- The Buford girls finished first and the Banks County girls second on Monday in the Region 7-AAA golf championships.

The Lady Wolves fired a team score 272, jut two shots ahead of the Lady Leopards at Scales Country Club in Homer.

Banks County senior Cara Gowder shot a 76, freshman Morgan Rylee shot a 98, and sophomore Jody Milford shot a 100 to lead Banks County.

The Lady Leopards will compete in the Class AAA girls sectional tournament on May 6 at Hartwell Golf Club in Hartwell.
