LOGANVILLE - Firefighters in Gwinnett County were called to the scene of a house fire in Loganville this afternoon.

According to Captain Tommy Rutledge with the Gwinnett Fire Department, crews were dispatched to the 3600-block of Brushy Wood Drive shortly after 6 o'clock.

Upon arrival, crews spotted light smoke showing from a garage attached to the side of the two-story wood home. Making a quick entry and utilizing a single fire attack hose line, firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control in less than 20 minutes.

The home's two adult occupants, who were alerted to the fire after detecting smoke inside the home, were safely evacuated and sustained no injuries.

Rutledge said that while the garage sustained moderate damage, only a light amount of smoke entered the home itself, and the victims of the fire would not be displaced.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
