GAINESVILLE - In a first for the Hall County School District, the system will offer students an interactive webinar to help them prepare for the SAT.
The live online sessions are scheduled for the five Thursdays prior to the March 9, 2013 administration of the SAT. Students may participate from 6:30-8 p.m. on the evenings of Feb. 7, Feb. 14, Feb. 21, Feb. 28 and March 7.
Those who want to participate, but may not be available to view a session live, can download a podcast no later than the Wednesday following the live session.
Aaron Turpin, the school system's Director of Information Technology, said the price is right for the program.
"It is affordable. The cost of the SAT Prep is $5 per session - there are five sessions - or $2o for all five sessions," saiod Turpin.
The school system has broken down course prep work in the following way:
Feb. 7, 2013: Overview of the SAT and Writing Sections
Feb. 14, 2013: Writing and Critical Reading Sections
Feb. 21, 2013: Critical Reading Sections
Feb. 28, 2013: Math Sections
March 7, 2013: Math Sections/Overview
Students must have a computer with a camera and microphone, as well as Internet access in order to take this course.
