ATLANTA (AP) -- The cost to use interstate toll roads in metro Atlanta, which has been steadily rising in recent months, has hit a new record.
Motorists during Friday morning's rush hour paid a record $6.35 to use the lanes.
Rates for the so-called HOT lanes on Interstate 85 northeast of Atlanta have increased in the past year, from $4.70 in February to $5 in April and now well over $6 some days.
Authorities with the Georgia State Road and Tollway Authority say prices rise and fall throughout the day, depending on traffic volumes.
