Democrats gathering around the state Sat.

ATLANTA - Georgia Democrats have scheduled a "Day of Action" Saturday at 36 sites around the state, including nine in northeast Georgia.

Picnics, cookouts, parks and road cleanups, and, in some cases, a celebration of President Obama's 50th birthday are on the agenda from the mountains to the seashore.

Among the places in northeast Georgia where Democrats plan to gather are Gainesville, Clarkesville and Duluth.
