GBI scrutinizes death of Barrow murder suspect's first wife

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA - Authorities who charged a Barrow County man with killing his wife are now looking into the death of his first wife in 1990.

James Lynn, Jr. of Winder is charged with killing his third wife Tonya Faye Lynn, whose body was discovered in a remote Barrow County well on Friday.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation Agent Jim Fullington said Tuesday authorities are now doing a ``preliminary review'' into the death of Lynn's first wife, Julie Johnson Lynn. He says the probe will determine whether authorities will reopen the case.

Julie Lynn died in 1990 from a single gunshot wound to her head, and medical examiners ruled her death a suicide.

James Lynn's second wife divorced him and is believed to be living in Florida.
