DAWSONVILLE - Authorities have released the name of the 10-year-old boy who was killed in a Jet Ski accident on Lake Lanier Wednesday afternoon.

Dawson County Coroner Ted Bearden says Conor Tierney of McLean, Va. died from traumatic injuries to his head and torso.

Dawson County Emergency Services Battalion Chief Milton Keller says the county's emergency services responded to a call that a juvenile had been hit by a watercraft while on the lake.

Keller said Tierney and his brother were riding separate watercraft when the accident occurred.

Emergency personnel say the child was in and out of consciousness after they arrived.

Tierney was airlifted to Scottish Rite Hospital where he later died.
