GAINESVILLE - A Hall County sheriff's deputy who was injured along with three other people Tuesday night in a wreck on Candler Highway was treated at Northeast Georgia Medical Center and released.
Sheriff's department spokesman Jeff Strickland has also identified him as Nicholas Parrish.
Col. Strickland said Parrish was responding to a "serious injury" crash on Candler Highway near Leland Road at the time of the wreck.
"The preliminary investigation indicates that as (he) rounded a curve at Construction Drive he encountered vehicles stopping for the original crash," Col. Strickland said. "(Parrish) became involved in a traffic accident that included three other vehicles."
All of the injuries were non-life threatening.
The two accidents closed Candler Highway from Calvary Church Road to Leland Road for about two hours, according to Strickland.
