Deputy sheriff to be buried Sunday

GAINESVILLE - The funeral for a Hall County sheriff's deputy who was killed Wednesday night in a motorcycle accident on I-985 will be held Sunday.

Authorities say Anthony Seda died about 7:30 when he was thrown into a guardrail after his bike wrecked near Plainview Road.

Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks of the Hall County Sheriff's Office says Seda, who worked at the county jail, had put himself through the police academy in anticipation of becoming a road patrolman and was to be transferred to the Uniform Patrol Division next week.

Sgt. Wilbanks says Seda, who was 21, had been with the sheriff's department for about a year.

His funeral will be at 2:00 Sunday at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Memorial Park Drive.

Seda was the second law enforcement officer killed in a motorcycle accident in Hall County in recent weeks. The earlier mishap happened on Cleveland Highway and took the life of a Walton County sheriff's deputy.
