Steve Bryson Band kicks off Oct. Blue Sky Concert series

GAINESVILLE - Main Street Gainesville kicks off the October Blue Sky Concert series Wednesday with the country sounds of The Steve Bryson Band.

The free concerts will be held each Wednesday this month from 12:00-1:00.

October 12 will feature blues and southern rock from Diversity; October 19 features contemporary jazz by Monica Spears; and October 26 will finish with the classic rock sounds of SideShow.

Adults and children of all ages can purchase "brown bag" lunches from the official vendor on the Square - Deep South Dogs, October 5; Luna's, October 12; The Collegiate Grill, October 19; and Atlas Pizza, October 26, or or bring food from home and "picnic" on the square.

Each concert will be broadcast live on TV18, The Government Channel and will be rebroadcast throughout the following week and online at tv18online.org.

The October concert series is sponsored by Gainesville Parks and Recreation, Radio Center, TV18, Main Street Gainesville, and The Times.

Other downtown events scheduled the remainder of the year include: Trick or Treat on the Square, Monday, October 31 from 3-5pm and the downtown holiday season kick-off Jingle Mingle, November 17 from 5-8pm.
