GAINESVILLE - Georgia's new insurance and fire safety commissioner has created a division in the office he hopes will improve the relationship between the office and the citizens of Georgia.
Ralph Hudgens says the Division of Constituent Services is needed to help protect the consumers in the state covering the wide array of services the office provides - such as regulating the insurance industry, small loan companies, fire safety "everything from race tracks to mobile home manufacturing plants."
Hudgens said the new service is needed because "the main charge as far as I'm concerned for the department of insurance is to protect the consumers in the state of Georgia."
Hudgens who won election to the office in November takes over from John Oxendine who did not seek re-election n order to run for governor.
