Jefferson youths excel at USA Wrestling tourney

Several Jefferson youth wrestlers recently competed in the USA Wrestling State Tournament.

The Big Kid State took place on March 6 at Union Grove High School in Fayetteville. Eleven 12 and 14-and-under wrestlers from Jefferson qualified.

Zach Rhymer won a state championship in 14-and-under, 120-pound class.

Meanwhile, nine 10, 8 and 6-and-under wrestlers qualified, and Jacob Crumley and Nicholas Holman earned State Champion gold medals.
