MACON - The Bibb County sheriff's office says a deputy shot and killed a pit bull that attacked him.
The sheriff's office says deputies Dallas Malone and Barry Warren were dispatched to a domestic dispute at a home on Sunday afternoon.
The sheriff's office says a pit bull became aggressive and charged Malone when deputies arrived.
In a news release, the sheriff's office says deputies told one of the residents to restrain the dog, and he put it into a vehicle. They say the man's mother released the dog and it ran at the deputies.
The sheriff's office says the dog was put inside the house but escaped and bit Warren on the leg. It says Warren then shot the dog.
Warren was treated for his injuries at a hospital.
