City, county offices closed Friday

GAINESVILLE - City of Gainesville offices will be closed Friday in observance of July 4 which falls on Saturday this year... meaning no garbage pickup that day.

It has been rescheduled for next Tuesday.

Friday recycling pickup in Gainesville will be go on as scheduled.

Hall County offices will also be closed Friday. In addition, county offices will be closed Monday July 6, as well, for another of the county commission-mandated unfunded furlough days. The county commission voted a few weeks ago to continue the one-a-month furloughs for the fiscal year that begins July 1. The furloughs were first ordered last fall in response to a budget crunch brought on by the recession.
