GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville man is in intensive care after being injured in a five-vehicle crash at Jesse Jewell and John Morrow parkways Tuesday morning.
Sergeant Johnny Ray of the Gainesville Police Department says 64-year-old Carlos Sanchez was injured when his car was hit by a tractor-trailer after he turned into the path of the big rig. Three other vehicles were also involved but there were no other injuries.
A spokeswoman for Northeast Georgia Medical Center said Wednesday morning Sanchez is in "critical but stable" condition.
The crash happened just before 8 a.m. and tied up traffic at the key westside intersection for about an hour.
