The Longstreet Clinic makes donation to Good News Clinics

By Staff
GAINESVILLE - The Longstreet Clinic recently made a $2,000 donation to Good News Clinics as part of the non-profit groups' "95 in 95" campaign.

Cheryl Christian, executive director of Good News Clinics, was on hand
at TLC's Strategic Planning Retreat on April 25 to accept the donation
from The Longstreet Clinic President Eugene Cindea, M.D., and CEO Mimi
Collins.

Part of The Longstreet Clinic's mission is a commitment to serving
the healthcare needs of all in the community.

"The Sam Poole Medical Clinic is a vital part of this community,
especially as more people lose their jobs and find themselves without
health insurance coverage," Cindea said. "Through this donation, the
physicians at The Longstreet Clinic wanted to recognize and contribute
to the important mission of the Good News Clinics."

In March, Good News Clinics received an anonymous gift of $95,000 with
the donor requesting that the community rise to the challenge to match
it. GNC is hoping to reach that goal by June 30. Both the Sam Poole
Medical Clinic and the Green Warren Dental Clinic have seen an increase
in need for their services as the economy has worsened.

The Longstreet Clinic, P.C., incorporated in 1995, is a multi-specialty
medical group owned and managed by physicians. The group has more than
76 physicians and 35 mid-level providers representing 11 specialties.
With its main campus located in Gainesville, TLC physicians also see
patients at offices in Oakwood, Buford, Braselton, Dahlonega, Baldwin
and Toccoa.

Good News Clinics is a nonprofit, faith-based health center located in
Gainesville. Its mission is to offer support and free medical care to
the indigent homeless and low-income people in Hall County who have no
health insurance and can't afford medical care.
