Gainesville- The Gainesville State College foundation came together Thursday evening for its 42nd annual meeting, to raise money for scholarships through a live and silent auction and award outstanding alumni.
President of the Alumni Association Vikki Davis gave honor to the 28,000 alumni in the association. She thanked them for all that they do for the school and students.
One of the top honorees at the meeting was Leslie Smithgall; she was recognized for all the things she does for the community and all the things she does for GSC. Though she was not in attendance, the foundation still wanted to give her recognition.
Those who participated in the auction chose from vacations to places like Amelia Island, FL, donated by Chris Crawford, and a one-year car wash package donated by Club Corners Car Wash. Those who bid on the items spent between $450 and $3800.
