WASHINGTON - The day that millions who had coverged on Washington this week - and millions of others around the world - had been waiting for finally arrived Tuesday but the day was not without its problems for many of them.
Many found themselves "on the outside looking in" after a generator went down at a ticket entry. Officials from different states were among those shut out of the inauguration.
Many found themselves blocked from the parade route. A couple of hours before it was to begin, police stopped admitting spectators. Others fell victim to the bitter cold and had to be treated by EMTs.
But after the swearing-in of the new president was over, many of those in the crowd said the chaos was worth it and they would do it over again... just to be a part of such a history-making event.
