Grand jury: No indictment of former Jefferson police chief

By The Associated Press
JEFFERSON - A grand jury has decided not to re-indict former Jefferson police chief Darren Glenn on charges that he used police computers and equipment while working on cases for his wife's private investigation firm.

The same panel had indicted Glenn in September. A judge later dismissed the indictment because Glenn had not been allowed to testify. The grand jury took its new 12-8 vote Tuesday after special prosecutor David Fowler sought a new indictment. This time the panel heard testimony that Glenn acted as he did because he he suspected his wife was in danger due to a case she was investigating.

Fowler says the grand jury's decision ends his case against Glenn.
