Adams, Blue Devils hold off Collins Hill

LAWRENCEVILLE - The Norcross Blue Devils traveled to Collins Hill Friday night in what was a wild game and beat the Eagles 31-21.<br> <br> The Blue Devils establish their running game early as DJ Adams took the first snap and raced 79 yards for a touchdown.<br> <br> After a Collins Hill punt and Norcross was knocking on the door again, but quarterback Nick Sopel fumbled a snap deep in Eagles territory. Collins Hill comes right back and gets picked of by corner Alex Napper.<br> <br> With Norcross in the Eagles red zone and going for a field goal Collins Hill comes up with a blocked kick to stay in the game. Late in the first Norcross forces another pick and turns it into three points early in the second.<br> <br> Second quarter Collins Hill comes out with an unbelievable rushing game from Charles Perkins, who rushed 30 times for 148 yards and a touchdown. <br> <br> In the second half Collins Hill came out and controlled the clock with its running game keeping the high powered offense of Norcross on the sideline.<br> <br> Late in the third fullback Brad Wood finished off a long drive with a 2 yard punch in and was looking to take the lead into the final quarter, but Norcross had other ideas. Adams came up huge in the third with a 66 yard run to set up Sorel to Brice Butler for a 9 yard strike to end the quarter.<br> <br> Collins Hill could smell the upset in the final frame only down 17-14, but Adams, who finished 17 carries for 215 yards and a touchdown, was too much down the stretch.<br> <br> Tyler Maloof put the game away for Norcross a 51 yard punt return for a touchdown.<br> <br> Rashad Head tried to keep the Eagles in the air returning the ensuing kick off 96 yards, but it wasn't enough.
