GAINESVILLE - The state's Grassroots Arts Program has awarded grants totaling $21,000 to a number of northeast Georgia programs, including three in Hall County.
In Hall County, Georgia Mountains Players is getting $2,000; Hall County Parks & Leisure Services, $1,670; and Enota school, $307.
Elsewhere in the area, the funding includes: Banks County Library, $1,374; Cherokee Community Chorale, Inc., $2,000 and Towne Lake Arts Center, $2,000, both Cherokee County; Dawson County Arts Council, $1,406; Sawnee Ballet Theatre, Forsyth County, $2,000; Cold Sassy Players, Jackson County, $1,940; Dahlonega Arts Council, $400; Dahlonega Downtown Development Authority/Better Home Town, $1,112; and Northeast Georgia Community Concert Association, $603, and Tocca Orchestra Guild, $1,000, both Stephens County.
The Arts Council of, Inc. of Gainesville serves as the Region 8 Grassroots Agency for the Georgia Council for the Arts, which administers the program.
