GMS' Harner apparently not headed to Kansas

KANSAS CITY - Gainesville Middle School Principal Bill Harner will apparently not be getting a school superintendent job in Kansas City.

According to a report in Saturday's Kansas City Star, a former schools superintendent in New Orleans is the choice for superintendent of the Kansas City, Missouri, School District.

A posting on the newspaper's Web site Monday morning quoted unnamed sources as saying Anthony Amato is the school board's choice for the job.

Harner, who has been Gainesville Middle School principal for almost two years, was one of four finalists for the job.
