Jobless rate down in Gainesville, region

ATLANTA - The unemployment rate in Metro Gainesville and the Georgia Mountains region is down more than half-a-percentage point.

State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond says the jobless rate declined .6% to 3.7%.

Overall, the rate for the 13-county Gorgia Mountains area is down even more... seven-tenths of a percent to 3.5%.

Every county in the region recorded a decrease in the unemployment rate over the past month.
