MACON, Ga. (AP) Shaday Woolcock scored 25 points and Angelica Mealing added 24 to lead Avondale to a 71-69 win over previously undefeated Kendrick in the Class AAA girls semifinals on Friday.<br>

The Blue Devils (29-3) will play either Hephzibah or Johnson-Gainesville for the championship on Saturday. Avondale will try for its first title in school history.<br>

The Cherokees (30-1) went on a quick 7-0 run in the third quarter and tied the game at 52. Clarissa Johnson hit a 3-pointer and a jumper and Leschelle Matthews added a layup.<br>

Avondale built its lead to 62-56 early in the fourth on Mealing's jumper. Kendrick answered with two baskets by Johnson and Kym Stamps to tie the game at 63.<br>

Two quick scores by Woolcock and Mealing put the Blue Devils up four points. After Janae McKinney's layup for the Cherokees, Nicole Stroud responded with a layup and a free throw to put Avondale up for good.<br>

Kendrick had a chance to win the game with two seconds left, but Mukia Myrick's 3-point attempt fell short. Rosetta Hollis led Kendrick with 19 points, while Johnson added 14 points in the loss.<br>

Stroud finished with nine points for the Blue Devils.<br>
