Westlake advances to AAA Championship with 48-38 win over Spencer

MACON, Ga. (AP) Antoine Johnson scored 21 points and Westlake's tough defense kept an undefeated season alive, beating Kendrick 48-38 in the Class AA boys semifinals on Friday.<br>

The Lions (32-0) will face the Liberty County-Dunwoody winner for the championship on Saturday. Westlake will try for its first title in school history.<br>

Spencer (27-4) and Westlake were tied at 24 in the third quarter before the Lions managed a 7-0 run. Patrick Hardy made a 3-pointer, Jerome Burney scored on a layup and Josh Ollie added another score to give the Lions a 31-24 lead.<br>

In the fourth, Johnson started another surge by Westlake when he connected on a jumper, then added two free throws that put the game away.<br>

Kareem Carter scored 11 points in the loss for Spencer, who didn't covert a 3-point shot through the whole game.<br>
