Golf course grand reopening next week

GAINESVILLE - All is just about ready for the grand reopening of the Chattahoochee Golf Course next week.

Masters Champion and Gainesville native Tommy Aaron has been chosen for the ceremonial first swing at 10:30 Friday morning.

That will be followed by regular play on Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday but course director Mark Bowen said earlier this month golfers will have to watch where they drive the carts for the time being, "We have a lot of new sod in areas and we'll be cart path only until the grass comes in fully sometime in the summer."

The golf course has just undergone a year-long three millon dollar facelift.
