Work on Oakwood Wal-Mart 'on schedule'

OAKWOOD - By the time the next Christmas shopping season arrives, a new major retailer should be open in Oakwood.

Wal-Mart's Glenn Wilkins says construction of the Wal-Mart SuperCenter on Mundy Mill Road is "right on schedule."

Wilkins says the 240,000-square foot store will probably be ready to open in late spring, employing about 350 people.

He adds stores usually start taking applications after a manager has been named and "three or four" months before they open.
