GAINESVILLE - The Chestatee High School band has accepted an invitation to play in the Cotton Bowl Parade in Dallas New Year's Day. <br>

It will be one of 24 bands in the parade and the only one from Georgia. <br>
<br>
The band boosters club has begun trying to raise money to help fund the trip.<br>
<br>
"As you can imagine, students, parents and the surrounding CHS community are extremely proud and humbled that our band has been chosen to participate in this prestigious and nationally recognized event," said Becky Rogers, Secretary, CHS Band Boosters. "As part of our fundraising efforts, the Band Boosters are seeking financial help from local businesses, our Partners in Education, and interested citizens." <br>

There are 122 students in the band.
