GAINESVILLE - The Hall County Commission is scheduled to vote Thursday night on plans for that 1,400-unit residential development for "active seniors" in the Chestnut Mountain area.

The site - 544 acres between Thompson Mill Road and Union Church Road - would also contain a 14-acre commercial area.

Organized opposition to the development - StopDelWebb.com - has formed over the past several weeks and the group commission is expected to be at the meeting in full force tonight to asked that the commission not approve developer Del Webb's Vintage Communities, Inc. proposal.
