Two banks merge in NE Georgia

CORNELIA - Two banks have merged in Northeast Georgia to expand service into Stephens County.

Habersham Bancorp has merged with Liberty Bank and Trust which gives Habersham two branches in Stephens County.

Spokeswoman Martha Reabold said all staff was retained in the merger.

"The difference is that Habersham Bank has an expanded product line that we are looking forward to introducing to those customers." She said.

With the expansion into Stephens County, Habersham Bancorp has ten branches in six Northeast Georgia counties.

They also include; Habersham, White, Gwinnett, Cherokee and Warren Counties.
