GAINESVILLE - Plans are in the works to celebrate the first anniversary of the Northeast Georgia History Center in Gainesville this summer.
As part of the observance, the history center will introduce two new exhibits.
One is "The Painted Aquarium of Lake Lanier" and the other is "Gainesville - A City Laid Waste. The Tornado of April 6, 1936."
Members of the history center will be feted at a reception and unveiling June 16, with the public invited to a two-day birthday party the June 17 and 18.
