Sendek names Harris as associate coach, tabs Miller as assistant

RALEIGH, N.C. - Larry Harris was named associate head coach at North Carolina State and Archie Miller was added to the staff as an assistant coach, Wolfpack coach Herb Sendek said Wednesday.<br> <br> Harris, 20-year coaching veteran, replaces Larry Hunter, who left last week to take the head coaching job at Western Carolina. Harris came to North Carolina State with Sendek as an assistant coach prior to the 1996-1997 season after working at Washington State, Oregon State and Duquesne.<br> <br> The 1978 Pittsburgh graduate once ranked as that school&#39;s all-time leading scorer.<br> <br> Miller, a former Wolfpack point guard, spent last season as director of basketball operations. He&#39;s still second in school history with 218 career three-pointers, while his .428 3-point percentage ranks ninth in Atlantic Coast Conference history. He spent a season coaching at Western Kentucky before coming back to Raleigh prior to last season.<br> <br> Greg Morland will take Miller&#39;s job. He was video coordinator during the past three seasons.<br> <br> Sendek also announced that Mark Phelps, an assistant coach for the past five seasons, will become director of scouting and recruiting. Phelps also came to North Carolina State with Sendek in 1996, serving as the director of basketball operations for four seasons before moving into the coaching position.
