RMA named Honor Unit with Distinction

GAINESVILLE - For the 48th consecutive year, Riverside Military
Academy's Corps of Cadets and Junior ROTC program has earned the designation of an Honor Unit with Distinction in its Annual Formal Inspection (AFI).

The AFI, directed by U.S. Army Cadet Command Regulations, is used to ensure JROTC programs are in compliance with regulations and goals set by U.S. Army Cadet Command and to identify and award excellence.

"The Honor Unit with Distinction rating is a superb achievement by the Riverside Corps of Cadets and its leadership," said Col. Michael Hughes, RMA Superintendent.

Lt. Col. Phil Rosso, of North Georgia College & State University, served as AFI chief inspector and conducted the AFI on March 23 with support from the college's ROTC department.

The inspection covered areas such as curriculum knowledge, drill and ceremony, supply management and discipline, records and administration, training management.
