ELLAVILLE - The Chestatee baseball team extended its winning streak to two games with 4-1 win over Schley County in the first game of a of doubleheader Saturday.
The streak ended in a 12-8 loss in the second game.
In the first game, Jake Daigle led the War Eagles (2-4) with a two-run home run. Chris Applegarth added two hits in the game.
Kyle Hix earned the win giving up seven hits and no walks while striking out six in a complete-game effort.
Daigle and Applegarth continued their strong hitting in the second game with two hits each but the War Eagles could not hold an 8-4 lead.
Class A Schley County rallied for the win scoring eight runs in the sixth inning.
Cory Morgan hit a home run for Chestatee in Game 2.
