Oakwood shooting victim recovering

OAKWOOD - A 54-year-old Lula man continues to recover from a shooting he suffered in Oakwood over the weekend, allegedly at the hands of his estranged wife.

Oakwood Police Chief Randall Moon said Tuesday it happened Friday night in the parking lot of the Scottish Inn motel and that Charles Russell Howard was shot three times - once each in the head, back and a hand.

Chief Moon says 53-year-old Rhonda Sheryl Howard, also of Lula, is charged with aggravated assault.

He says she ws arrested at the scene and admitted shooting her husband.
