Report: Arkansas commitment Mustain may reopen recruiting process

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) Quarterback Mitch Mustain of Springdale, who has orally committed to Arkansas, may change his mind about where to play college ball, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.<br> <br> Mustain&#39;s mother, Beck Campbell, told the newspaper Mustain is ``in limbo&#39;&#39; and is influenced by uncertainty about the status of Arkansas quarterbacks coach Roy Wittke and the presence of assistant David Cutcliffe at Tennessee.<br> <br> Cutcliffe, who coached Peyton Manning at Tennessee and Eli Manning at Ole Miss, has rejoined the Volunteers. Cutcliffe had been on the Notre Dame staff before leaving for health reasons and had recruited Mustain while there.<br> <br> The newspaper also cited an unnamed source close to Mustain who said the quarterback would reopen the recruiting process.<br> <br> Regarding rumors of changes within Arkansas coach Houston Nutt&#39;s staff, Campbell said the family is in the dark.<br> <br> ``Nobody has told us anything,&#39;&#39; Campbell told the newspaper. ``We read in the paper that Coach Wittke is cone. Nobody has called and told us that. We&#39;re like everybody else, waiting to see what they are going to do.&#39;&#39;<br> <br> In leading Springdale (14-0) to the Class AAAAA championship this season, Mustain threw for 3,817 yards, 47 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.
