Former major leaguer Reardon arrested on robbery charges

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (AP) Former major league relief pitcher Jeff Reardon has been arrested on charges he robbed a jewelry store in Florida.<br>

Police say the 50-year-old Reardon walked into the store in Palm Beach Gardens yesterday and handed an employee a note that said he had a gun. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money and police arrested him at a nearby restaurant. Police recovered the money.<br>

Reardon played for 16 seasons with the Montreal Expos, Boston Red Sox, Cincinnati Reds, New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins. He saved 367 games and was a four-time All-Star.<br>
