Tennessee's Riggs has surgery on ankle

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Tennessee tailback Gerald Riggs Jr. had surgery Monday on his right ankle to repair torn ligaments, team officials announced.<br> <br> Riggs, a senior, was hurt in the Volunteers&#39; 6-3 loss at Alabama on Oct. 22. Team officials have said Riggs would be out the rest of the season with ankle and lower leg injuries, effectively ending his college career.<br> <br> Riggs ran for a team-high 530 yards this season.
