Storm expected to impact NE Georgia holiday

UNDATED - Rains and winds associated with Hurricane Frances could play havoc with some holiday weekend plans in northeast Georgia.

Remnants of the storm are expected in our area Monday or Tuesday, depending on their speed and strength.

Thousands of boaters, campers, and others usually flock to the areas lakes and mountains each Labor Day for one last summer fling.

Weather forecasters say the best chance of rain and wind in our area associated with the storm will be Sunday night and Monday.
