CARTERSVILLE - Diego Alvarez's penalty kick goal just four minutes into the game was all the West Hall boys soccer team needed Tuesday night.<br>

The Spartans made that stand up in taking a slim 1-0 win over host Cartersville in the first round of the Class AAA soccer tournament.<br>

Cartersville had a penalty kick of its own late in the game but it was disallowed when one of its players went into the penalty box during the kick.<br>
<br>
West Hall will play Stephens County, a 3-2 winner over Towers Tuesday, next week in the second round.
