GAINESVILLE - Amanda Towe scored 15 points, including going 9-for-9 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to lead the Johnson girls basketball team to a 66-56 win over Flowery Branch Saturday night.
The win gives Johnson the No. 3 seed from Region 7-AAA in the state tournament which begins next Friday at Gainesville High School. Flowery Branch will be the fourth seed.
The Lady Knights were 21-of-27 from the line for the game.
Johnson led through most of the first three quarters but Flowery Branch used a late run to tie the score at 42-42 going into the fourth quarter.
Johnson outscored the Lady falcons 24-14 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win.
Whitney Randolph scored 14 and Brooke Baker had 11 for Johnson.
Flowery Branch was led by Beth Adcock with 22 points. Kristina Tyler had 18 and Courtney Newton 10 for the Lady Falcons.
