SHMS wins AYP appeal

GAINESVILLE - South Hall Middle School, which missed making Adequate Yearly Progress this year in only one first indicator, has won its appeal.

South Hall missed making AYP in math for Students With Disabilities by only one percentage point.

The school told the state Department of Education in its appeal that alternative assessments of the twelve students in quesiton should be score and counted toward AYP. And, the department concurred.
