Water meter work planned on MLK

GAINESVILLE - Work crews from the City of Gainesville will spend most of Saturday installing new water meters along a major thoroughfare on the south side of town.

The work is scheduled from 8:00-4:00 - and will involve replacements of each meter on MLK from Queen City Parkway to Pine Street.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area all day, but city officials say water service to each customer should not be interrupted for no more than one hour unless a problem arises. They say if problems are encountered, "homeowners/tenants will be notified."
