English church choir to perform in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville is one of three stops in Georgia for the Cathedral Choir from Hereford, England.

The choir's 18 boy choirsters, ages 7-14, together with the lay clerks (the men who sing the alto, tenor and bass parts), will appear in concert Saturday at 5:00 at Grace Episcopal Church. The concert will be followed by a reception in the church Parish Hall.

The rector at Grace, Rev. Doug Dailey, was ordained at Hereford Cathedral and the Grace Church youth group visited the cathedral last year. Tickets - $5 for students and seniors/$10 adults - are available in the church office at 422 Brenau Avenue, at Riverside Pharmacy, or from any Grace Church Parish Choir member.

On Sunday morning, the choir will sing for the 10:45 Eucharist at the church.
