GAINESVILLE - The new bridge over Georgia 400 at McFarland Road in Forsyth County is scheduled to go into service Tuesday.
Georgia Department of Transportation District Engineer (GDOT) Todd Long says that means work will now begin on the old bridge.
GDOT is building a new, wider bridge over 400 and now that half of the new bridge has been completed, traffic will be shifted onto the new section of bridge and the upgrade of the old bridge will begin.
The $9 million project is expected to be April 30.
